Wall of PEACE

4-1-13 (this is not an April's Fool Joke)..... really!

"WELCOME PEACE"
by Judy Sebern Beachy

My peace art journey began in 2011 and continued through 2012.  Now in 2013, I’m expanding my peace art into new and creative venues.  Building this wall of peace was inspired by a visit to the DM Art Center in January. I observed that a common object can often become more interesting when multiplied and grouped together. (So I thought I’d give it a try!) Nearly 400 peace discs are displayed here.

This display is hung for the months of April and May at Westminster Church in Des Moines. Use the Franklin Avenue entrance and walk straight ahead.... you won't miss it.

Exciting PEACE news

1-25-13
Here I thought my creating PEACE Art was slowing down in 2013, however just the opposite has happened! I now am making about four PEACE disks a day, in order to have enough (~300) disks ready by March.

In March I will be doing a fun PEACE installation by covering a 20 foot length of wall with PEACE disks.

I'll keep you posted as more unfolds. Here are some of my newest creations for this project.

Peace Hug for Robin Roberts

9-20-12
We are sending Peace Healing Prayers to one extraordinary strong woman, Robin Roberts- Good Morning America’s co-host, from two ordinary Iowa women.  As Robin heads into her bone marrow transplant today, September 20th, we wanted to let her know she is loved and admired by thousands, maybe millions of people.

A special shout-out to the GMA morning team. Your daily messages and pure love for Robin transcends to your viewers, Team Robin. Thank you for always opening the program with “Robin Roberts is on medical leave”.  It makes us all know she will be back, chatting up with George and company.

Peace and Love from Ann and Judy

Amazing clean blue sky, smoke, broken hearts which united us.
Remembering one brief moment in time, still felt even today.

Unexpected Peace

I tried to stop with the button peace, but this purple peace cried out for the pink buttons!
It wanted to be part of the button peace group.

Peaceful Decorating Idea

11-7-11
My neighbor Deb purchased three of my large Peace Art. At first she just was going to hang them on the wall without a frame, but later changed her mind and found inexpensive black frames at the craft store and just tacked them to the outside of the glass.

I really liked the look without the fancy matting which I had been using to frame the larger Peace Art.

A reminder for those of you in the Des Moines area- This Saturday will be my first attempt at selling my Peace Art!

The annual Westminster Holiday Treasures Craft Fair is happening on Saturday, November 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Shop for hand-crafted items, original art, Christmas ornaments, fair-trade gifts, baked goods, gluten-free products, and more!

Free admission!  All are welcome -- so bring a friend or two!

Westminster Church is at the corner of Beaver and Franklin in the Beaverdale!

Unexpected Peace

10-21-11
More wet paint that dries in some unexpected ways. After 10 months of making peace, I'm still surprised at what the paint will do when it dries. I like that!.... it's like when the world politics surprises me too in unexpected ways.

FUN Peace

10-19-11
This was fun to make- my paint was watery and seemed to blend together however it wanted to.
