Peace, Love and Wine

7-15-12
I will be able to start posting my Peace Art again in a few days. In the mean time here are a few pictures of the "Winestock"- Peace, Love & Wine Festival I participated in yesterday, held at Dale Valley Vineyard about 45 miles west of Des Moines, Iowa.

Since it was my first time there, I just sat up a small booth of Peace Art. It looked to be a fun day with great bands playing and people relaxing under tents in the meadow.

There were a few food vendors and about 6 artsy-type vendors. Unfortunately, the temperature was uncomfortable at 95, but since we've had a drought here in Iowa, there were no bugs.

A few girlfriends came out to help me, and we of course had to get in the Woodstock/Winestock mood of dressing hippy-ish. I recently found this fringe top at TJ Max.

There was only a 10% chance of isolated Thunderstorm predicted for the day- like I said, Iowa has been dry for several months......well that one stray Thunderstorm found us!

I was in denial..... I was sure this cloud was going to go around us.... but it didn't! It poured down hard for about 30 minutes, the wind blew and even some small hail. The  temperatures dropped down to 75 degrees. I went from sweating to having goose bumps!

We got a laugh at our neighbors booth- this guy in the hat was helping to hold down their tent with a bottle of beer in one hand.... and we were amazed that his hat never blew off!

Well, the result was I didn't sell much Peace Art..... but I did have a great time meeting some very nice and interesting people, who could relate to my Peace Art.....and after the sky cleared the music resumed and we enjoyed a beautiful evening out in rural Iowa.

Here two music stages and large wine deck. The sunset was prettier than this picture shows.

Here where my helpers! Ann, Carolyn, Kelley and Michele!

I am looking forward to my next visit to Dale Valley Vineyard and I hope to attend Winestock 2013!

Peace Out!
Peace Within!
